Mode of Selection :
For Category B: The candidates with Masters Degree in relevant discipline will have to clear the entrance test conducted by the University. The candidates who have cleared the ICAR- NET examination will be exempted from the entrance test. All the candidates have to appear for synopsis presentation and interview before the Doctoral Committee whose decision will be final for the selection of candidates.
Note: The course outlines and reference material will be provided to the students. All the selected candidates shall have to pass eight courses (four compulsory courses of dairy technology discipline and four optional courses which can be selected from the basket of eight optional courses). Each course (compulsory / optional) will be of four credits and the candidate has to secure minimum of 50% marks in each course. Duration of course work will be one year.

Students with an MPhil degree are required to present a PhD proposal which will be approved by the Doctoral Committee. They will be registered for the PhD Programme only if the proposal is approved by the Doctoral Committee.

(ii) Those who possess M.Phil in any subject, (other than Rural Development) may take three compulsory course; namely;

However, the Doctoral Committee may exempt a candidate from taking the Research methodology course, if they feel so.
